Future of Data Storage – Laser Etched Quartz Glass Storage Technology by Hitachi

Well you can store water in a glass tumbler for a quite long time, but after some days you will notice that nothing is there in the tumbler because the water gets evaporated. Likewise our electronic data storage also has a limited life with the current optical storage devices.

But now HITACHI has unveiled its developed Glass based Storage Technology which will definitely store data for hundreds of million years, claimed officially by the company. The Glass Storage medium will also possess heat and water resistance properties.

HITACHI can bring this technology in the market by 2015 as told by the company officials at a routine event in Tokyo.

The company has given a name to this upcoming technology as Laser-Etched-Quartz-Glass Technology.

If the world gets this technology in the future, which is for sure, It will change the whole computing world historically.
