Wikipedia is Going Offline On Wednesday to Protest SOPA and PIPA

Wikipedia will be offline on wednesday 18 Jan, 2012 to protest SOPA. It will be troublesome for many people out there on the web who access wikipedia on daily basis, specially for the students. According to wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, wikipedia will be offline on wednesday for 24 hours.

On twitter,Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales  tweeted – “This is going to be wow. I hope Wikipedia will melt phone systems in Washington on Wednesday. Tell everyone you know!”

In a humorous tweet he added – “Student warning! Do your homework early. Wikipedia protesting bad law on Wednesday! #sopa“. For your reference, Only English Wikipedia will be blacked out globally to oppose SOPA and PIPA. You can read the complete detail on wikipedia’s wiki here.
