Discovery and Development of Android

The word android which is showering smiles to its users these days actually is a linux based open source operating system (OS) for mobile phones, tablets and these days some cameras are also using it (See Nikon’s Android Camera). It is developed under the open handset alliance led by google in between of various R&D facilities.

Development

The initial developer or we can say the pioneer of android is a company named as Android inc. , further Google had purchased it in 2005. Android OS got officially distributed in the open market to other companies for R&D and advancement in the late 2007. Google has also started an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) as a research & development program for the android world. This program also aims at android compatibility with those devices using third party OS.

Android Versions

The first version of Android was (Astro1.0) and after that a blend of different versions have released in the market for better interface and use.

The latest and the updated version is the Jelly Bean 4.1

The invention of Android has made life easy, we all can do those things today which were previously not possible and yes now with a faster speedy way.
