Apple maps is buggy and non-trustworthy. Everyone using iOS 6 knows this. And it made Apple lose its years-earned fame and trust a bit. Everyone using iOS6 is missing the Google Maps. And the sad thing is that Google has not launched it iOS app for Maps.
The good thing, you can still use Google maps on iOS. It’s as simple as browsing a website. In case you a hardcore maps user, dependent on navigation; the UI may disappoint you a bit.
This is a web app. This is add an app icon on your homescreen and take you to safari. To install Google maps, do as mentioned below:
- Open maps.google.com in Safari
- Click on “Share” button and tap on ” Add to home screen”
- This will create an app icon, tapping on that will bring you to the google maps.
Similarly you can also install (create a quick bookmark) Nokia maps.
Still, the original google maps app will be missed. If you don’t see Google maps app in a few upcoming maps, dump your iOS 6 device and buy a Droid. Or simply degrade to iOS 5.
