How To: Make Your Facebook Profile Public or Private

| October 11, 2012 | 0 Comments

You know you can disable your Facebook profile to be seen by public. There is deep-hidden feature which lets you hide or say make your Facebook profile private.

Private means your friends can see your profile but It will not be shown to any other person on Facebook or even in Google search results.

Or you want to disable this and make your profile public, again. Reasons might be that you unwillingly unchecked the “enable public search” button while browsing privacy settings. And you later noticed that you are no longer visible in search engines and people you are not friends with can’t see you on Facebook.

You might have messed up while rolling back the changes but I bring the full proof solution for you.

How to Make your FB Profile Public or Private

  • Go to Facebook Privacy settings page.
  • Scroll down and select “Ads, Apps and Websites” > Edit settings.
  • Scroll down and select public search > Edit settings.
  • Check the box if you want your profile to be shown to public or uncheck for private.
  • That’s it!

Watching a tutorial video is always a great idea. So I have uploaded a video on YouTube for your ease.

Both Public and Private have their own advantages and disadvantages so it’s totally upto you whether you want your FB profile to be public or private, Shown or hidden.
