Facebook To Go Public, IPO in April or June 2012 – Advantages And Disadvantages

Facebook IPO – World’s number one social networking site and world’s # 2 ranked website(alexa) in terms of traffic is about to go Public. According to a report from Wall Street Journal, Facebook will make its long-anticipated move to go public between April and June 2012. Facebook’s CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg has in the past publicly expressed reluctance to do an IPO. And he has opted to keep Facebook private longer than many suspected he would.

Facebook is planning to raise $10 Billion in IPO which will value facebook more than $100 billion. If realized, the valuation would make Facebook’s IPO one of the largest in history — more than four times as big as Google’s $23 billion IPO in 2004. Advantages:

  • Increase in Capital.
  • Facebook will increase the number of servers around the world.
  • It will recruit more employees.
Disadvantages:
  • Penetration to show more ads.
  • Lack of user interference quality may be there.
Quick Facts –  Google has more than 300000 servers all around the world while Facebook has 60000+. Since many people are there who are going to buy its shares and Facebook may directly approach its users on the welcome page, etc to influence users to go for IPO.
